All cakes and products made by Kay’s cakes are subject to the following Terms and Conditions.
Orders:
All orders are personal between the customer and Kay’s cakes, each customer will be sent a break down of there order with an agreed price on and details of the order. The order will be made to the specifications on the break down sent over.
Each customer will agree to the break down of the order before anything is made.
If any alterations need to be made to the order these need to be made 1 week prior to the making of the cake.
Ingredients / Allergies
All ingredients used are of the highest quality and brought in as close to the date of making the cake as possible. I can also cater for allergies, please let Me know how I can assist you.
Please be aware that if you have any allergies outlined with me I will take every precaution to avoid the cross contamination of products, however I can still not guarantee that all products will be nut free, dairy free, gluten free and any other allergies that are catered for, as the cakes will still be prepared in a kitchen where eggs, dairy, wheat and gluten are heavily used.
All allergies are outlined on the box the cake/product is picked up in. Each customer is also given an invoice which list all ingredients found in the product.
When delivering a wedding cake there is a allergy sheet handed to a member of staff at the venue and signed by a member of staff. This sheet also list all ingredients that have been used in the making of the cake/products.
Cake Component parts:
Sometimes extras will be added to the cake that are not edible, for example dowels to support tier cakes and ribbon to add a better finish. All inedible items will be listed on the ingredient sheet on the box and all paper work handed over. I will also inform the customer what isn’t edible.
Sometimes specific things will need to be order in upon request if for any reason these items are not available I will give enough notice to the customer so we are able to work out a different option.
Cake Tasting:
Kay’s cakes offer a cake tasting to any customer this will be offered at a charge of £20.00. This will need to be paid on the day of booking in the cake tasting with me. If you decide to then use me for your cake and the order comes to over £250.00 the cost of the cake tasting will be taken of the final amount.
Deposit:
Each order will require a deposit, depending on the cake / product will depend on the amount required. The deposit must be paid 4 weeks prior to the completion date of any novelty / occasional cake/product. Wedding orders must be paid a minimum of 3 months prior to the Completion date. Deposit are non refundable.
Rest of Payment:
Full payment for any wedding order or Afternoon tea will need to be paid 1 month before the date of completion.
For any other novelty/Occasional order the rest of payment will be required on collection.
Cancellations:
If cancelling a order this will need to be done 1 month prior to the wedding date for a refund on any money that is a above the deposit amount. Once a wedding cake is booked in the deposit is non refundable. If cancelled within the 1 month you will lose the full amount of the cake / order.
If cancelling a novelty/occasional order this will also need to be 1 month prior to the date of the order for a refund on any money that is above the deposit amount. Once a deposit is paid this is non refundable.
Delivery:
Delivery is available on any order. There will be a minimum of £5.00 charge for delivery, anything after 3 miles will be an additional cost of 25p per mile. There may also be an additional charge depending on the distance and time it will take this will be discussed between myself and the customer before confirmation of the order. You will be required to provide me with the full address a
week before the order is due to be delivered so I can plan the best route. There should be parking at the venue/house, if there isn’t sufficient parking and permits are needed please assure I have access to this on the day, if any parking charges / parking tickets are issued this will be the customers responsibility to cover.
Set up:
Setup is available with any cake, there will be an additional charge for this, a price will be discussed between myself and the customer. There should be a place for the cake to be set up ready for when I arrive with the cake/order. Once the cake / order is set up I recommend it Is not moved, kays cakes will not be liable for any damage caused to the cake/products once it has been set up. A member of staff at the venue will be asked to sign the cake/product in once they are happy it is set up where required. A picture will be taken of the Cake / product set up as proof it was set up to the required specifications. .
Collection:
On arrival for collection you will be shown the cake / product and will be asked if all spelling and specifications are correct. You will be asked to sign for the cake as proof you are happy before leaving. I will explain the best way to travel and store the cake/products once home. Kay’s cakes will not be liable to any damage caused to the cake / product when it has left the premises
Online order / Postal
Kay’s cakes offer a small postal range, once the payment has been made and the items have been sent it is non refundable. All orders online will need to be paid in full upon completion of order. Please allow 7 working days for the order to be made and then shipped to you. All orders will be posted on the customers chosen delivery option and will need to be eaten within 48 hours of Arrival. All precautions will be taken to keep the product as fresh as possible. Each item will be freshly made to fit the orders requirements. All postage will be stated with each item when purchasing it through the website. Kay's cakes will not refund for missed deliveries but will do all i can to help make sure you are home to receive the parcel. I use Hermes for posting.
All information will be protected by the “data protection act of 1998”. Any and all information provided will be kept confidential and not shared unless instructed by the customer or requested by a law enforcement. Information can be withdrawn or changed if requested by the customer at any time, however this may effect the process of the order.
Once a deposit is paid this will be your agreement to Kay’s cakes terms and conditions. All deposits will be confirmed via an invoice.
